Annual consultation poster
Consultancy Work
Being primarily a field-based station, the UNHCR collaborates with thousands of Non-Governmental Organisations (NGOs) worldwide. They are UNHCR's backbone. Once a year representatives from the NGOs and UNHCR consult with one another to discuss partnerships, to also attempt to make the world a better place.
This was an in-house mandate. The brief was to take into account not only the annual consultations, but the 60th anniversary of the foundation of the UNHCR's mandate, which was being held at the same time. I was asked to adapt this design for screens, internet banners and diverse poster formats.
Conference banner
Consultancy Work
Each year the main regions under the UNHCR's mandate meet up to discuss major issues on refugees and migration.
This banner was particularly challenging as I initially did not have a panoramic photo to work on. The photo was closely cropped around the truck with little background. With Photoshop I painted in the missing background.
60th anniversary poster
Consultancy Work
In 2011 the UNHCR celebrated the 60th anniversary of it's existance. Several events were organised to celebrate this organisation's proud history of helping refugees worldwide.
One of my duties as a consultant was to search for previous artwork in the UNHCR's archives which were selected. I had to analyse them and determine if they had to be completely redone or simply updated.

The UNHCR does all it can within its mandate to help the plight of refugees. The organisation has throughout it's history done its best to communicate to the outside world. For the organisation's 60th anniversary, I reckon this poster is one of the most moving.
This poster was particularly interesting to redo because it was done initially by hand as camera-ready artwork. I could not find the original artwork and I had only at my disposal a camera slide. I got the slide scanned and I had to search on my computer for a similar font that was placed at the time on the artwork by Letraset®!
World Refugee Day banners

This campaign was pitched to Young and Rubicam for this important yearly date in UNHCR's calendar. They were bold in their approach and made a significant impact with these huge banners.
To make possible the vision brought forward by Young and Rubicam's work, the banners were printed by a specialised agency in Thailand. I was responsible for following the production and creating the artwork.
